Lydia Susan Palmer, RICP® is a Financial Advisor at Alliance Financial Network and is the founder of Higher Purpose Financial, where she helps individuals, families, and business owners build financial confidence through every stage of life. She has a special passion for serving those in education and nonprofit careers, helping clients identify opportunities, strengthen retirement readiness, diversify assets, and create financial strategies that support both their goals and values.
Known for her thoughtful, caring approach, Lydia believes financial planning should always be a "no-shame zone." She meets clients where they are, helping them better understand how the different pieces of their financial lives work together so they can make informed decisions with confidence. Lydia especially enjoys seeing people realize they have the ability to strengthen their financial future and takes pride in empowering clients with knowledge that lasts well beyond their meetings.
Lydia brings more than six years of financial services experience, along with a diverse professional background in higher education, marketing, fundraising, communications, and planned giving. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Syracuse University and a Master of Science in Communications and Media Technology and holds the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designation. She is actively involved with Penfield Presbyterian Church, St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center, the Syracuse University Alumni Chapter, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
Outside of work, Lydia enjoys music, movies, the arts, Rochester's many festivals, and spending time with her son, family, and longtime friends. Originally from Wellsville, New York, she now calls Penfield home. Her infectious laugh is often her trademark—and, as a fun piece of family history, she's related to the inventor of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
