Derek Douglas

Derek Douglas is an Associate Financial Professional at Alliance Financial Network and MedPro Financials, where he helps military veterans, healthcare professionals, and young families build financial plans designed to provide confidence through life's changing circumstances. In his role, Derek focuses on cash flow strategies, income protection, and helping clients identify and overcome the roadblocks standing between them and their financial goals.

Known for being an active listener and asking thoughtful questions, Derek approaches each relationship with integrity, service, and a commitment to understanding the client's complete picture. Drawing on his extensive background in military leadership and training, he has a talent for breaking complex concepts into clear, actionable steps. Derek especially enjoys helping clients feel lighter and more secure, knowing they have a plan and a trusted professional helping them prepare for the future.

Before entering financial services in 2026, Derek served 12 years in the United States Air Force as a Cryptologic Linguist and Military Training Instructor. His military career developed his skills in leadership, communication, training, and remaining calm in high-stakes environments. Derek studied Intelligence Studies at the Community College of the Air Force and Urdu at the Defense Language Institute and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Arizona State University. He also holds his New York State Life, Accident, and Health insurance license.

A proud Niagara County native, Derek lives in Lewiston with his wife, Allison, their three daughters, and Bernese Mountain Dog, Tracy. Outside of work, he enjoys road cycling, sailing, and reading science fiction and classics. Each morning begins with a carefully practiced coffee-making ritual and a poem—often by Emily Dickinson—a tradition that reflects his thoughtful and disciplined approach to each day.
